The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation is designed for insurance professionals who serve agricultural clients. The program provides in-depth knowledge of farm exposures, agribusiness operations, and specialized coverages that are unique to the agricultural industry. Through a structured series of courses, participants gain practical skills they can immediately apply in the field.

AFIS 1: Farm Property
May 14, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. MST | $169
AFIS 1 covers farm property, including buildings and contents used for personal and business purposes. It addresses movable items like tractors, combines, and livestock, explaining exposures and the forms used to manage them.

AFIS 2: Farm Liability
June 11, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. MST | $169
AFIS 2 covers farm liability, including exposures from soil cultivation, crop production, livestock raising, and incidental operations like roadside stands. It explores the mix of residential and commercial risks and examines when farmers or ranchers may be legally responsible for incidents on the farm or from sold products.

AFIS 3: Farm Auto, Work Comp & Umbrella Insurance
July 9, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. MST | $169
AFIS 3 covers farm auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella insurance, addressing liability gaps in farm and general liability policies. It examines vehicle-related risks, worker exposures, and the need for excess liability coverage to ensure sufficient protection against farm-related claims.

AFIS 4: Special Farm Property Insurance Lines
August 13, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. MST | $169
AFIS 4 covers special farm property insurance, addressing gaps in standard policies. It examines unique exposures like equipment breakdown, mobile machinery, livestock, and crops, exploring specialized coverage options to manage these risks.

AFIS 5: Miscellaneous Farm Insurance Lines
September 10, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. MST | $169
AFIS 5 covers emerging farm insurance needs, including pollution, management liability, and crime. It focuses on identifying these risks and addressing them with risk management and specialized coverage options.
3 Colorado PC CE Credits
You can still earn the designation even if you can’t attend the live webinar sessions. After each live broadcast, a link to the recording is sent out, which remains valid for three months, along with your unique online access code, valid for approximately one year. This allows you to take the 50-question multiple-choice exam for that course.
Please keep in mind that if you choose this option, you will not receive CE credit for the course. However, you can still earn the designation by watching the recording in its entirety and passing the corresponding exam.
