Michigan’s Mike McBride leads national association for 2023-24 term.
ALEXANDRIA, VA, September 13, 2023— The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”) installed Michigan’s Mike McBride, president of Mason-McBride in Troy, as the 2023-2024 Big “I” chairman at the recent Big “I” Fall Leadership Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
With over 35 years of experience in insurance and financial services, McBride is the former Michigan director on the national association board. He previously served as chair of the Trusted Choice® Board of Directors, and more recently, as its Executive Committee liaison. He has also been a member of the Technical Affairs Committee. He was elected to the Big “I” Executive Committee in 2017.
“Mike’s dedication to the independent agency channel and to Big ‘I’ members is clearly seen in the many ways he has already served the association and in his ongoing passion to encourage agents to serve their communities,” says Charles Symington, Big “I” president & CEO. “We’re grateful for his leadership as the Big ‘I’ continues to provide members with a sustainable competitive advantage as they weather current market conditions.”
McBride says a focus of his chairmanship will be communication and technology to equip members. “Independent agents play crucial roles in our country’s economy, and we are proud to support them with the tools they need to thrive and excel,” he says. “I am humbled by the opportunity to serve at the national level as the Big ‘I’ guides its members to innovate in a changing work environment and challenging marketplace.”
Along with McBride’s installation, Todd Jackson, McGowan Insurance Group, Indianapolis, Indiana, was sworn in as Big “I” chairman-elect and Lou Moran III, Inter-Agency Insurance Service, Knoxville, Tennessee, became vice chair. McBride succeeds chairman John Costello, senior vice president at USI Insurance Services in Rochester, New York, who will remain on the Big “I” Executive Committee for an additional year as immediate past chair.
